NTM-PD Global Clinical Survey – Invitation to Participate and Share Across Network
————————
Dear Prof. Dr.,
We hope this message finds you well. We are conducting a survey-based study to capture clinicians’ perspectives on the practical applicability and interpretation of the NTM pulmonary disease (NTM-PD) diagnostic criteria and management guidance in diverse real-world settings. Your input would be valuable in helping us to capture a global snapshot.
We will accept multiple responses from every country; hence we request you to kindly participate in the survey and also share this invitation to all clinicians working with TB/NTM patients in your network.
Target respondents: All physicians (pulmonologists, TB specialists, ID specialists, internal medicine, pediatricians, GPs etc.) dealing with patients presenting with pulmonary NTM.
More specifically, the survey objectives are to:
- Assess how interpretable and applicable clinicians find the NTM-PD diagnostic criteria in day-to-day practice.
- Estimate indirectly what proportion of patients with at least one respiratory NTM isolate are perceived to eventually fulfil all diagnostic domains.
- Explore how clinicians re-weight diagnostic domains in the presence or absence of structural lung disease, and across different resource and TB-burden settings.
- Understand when clinicians decide to start or withhold treatment, and which contextual factors drive these decisions.
Lead Study Contact: Nityanand Jain, MD. KU Leuven, Belgium. Email: nityanand.jain@kuleuven.be
Why Participate?
Your input will help define global clinical practice:
- Takes approximately 12–15 minutes to complete and includes an option to save and return later.
- We will recognize the contributors through collaborative authorship in the resulting paper.
- Survey closes on 28th March 2026.
